We sometimes focus on the wants and needs of our family but forget about ourselves! One may feel “I just don’t have time for this” or feel guilty for taking time for some ME care. In some situations, the mom/wife/housewife is the GLUE that keeps the family running smoothly and sticking together.

It is important and VERY NECESSARY to pamper yourself! Taking time to unwind and relax is what one needs to continue to take good care of our family. Some women have the money and time to go to a spa and that is WONDERFUL! If you don’t, I have good news: you CAN create your own SPA at home!

Create a Spa Like Atmosphere

You can do this with a variety of items!

Some items you may already have in your home.

Here are a few suggestions:

Small fake plants or live plants (ferns, flowers, etc.) – I picked up a few fake plants at a discount store. They are easy to find.

Essential Oil Humidifier – I have a variety of essential oils that I use such as vanilla, orange and lavender blends. My humidifier also has a timer and glows in different colors. Very soothing! There are humidifiers that come with a remote control and oils. Click here to get yours: https://amzn.to/4fEv1o6 (*paid link)

Candles – I have some scented candles and I also have some battery-operated candles that change colors.

Spa Music – I have found hours of continuous spa music online.

You want your personal space to look, smell and sound like a spa. Mmmm relaxing…

Essential Items For Your Spa Session

Here are some other important items to have available:

  • Soft robe
  • Soft towels
  • Headband
  • Soft socks or slippers

Taking It To The Next Level

I take my spa time VERY SERIOUSLY, so I have and suggest the following items:

  • Facial steamer
  • Foot bath
  • Foot file or callus remover
  • Back massager (insert in any chair)
  • Neck massager
  • Paraffin bath (I use during the fall/winter)

Now let me say I didn’t just go out and buy all of this at once! My spa is a collection of gifts from holidays, clearance and sale items, etc. So, whenever I go shopping, I also look for things to add to my Home Spa. My back massager has lasted a long time and has various settings with a remote control. Here is a link to one that I suggest: https://amzn.to/3X9kDxL (*paid link)

Shower and Bath Time

Start out by taking a relaxing shower or bath. If you use bath bombs, find your favorite kind and enjoy! There are also a wide variety of body washes that leave your skin smelling great and feeling smooth! You may want to use your facial cleanser before you give attention to the rest of your body.

Face and Body Time

After your shower or bath, now it’s time to pay attention to your facial skin. Choose a moisturizer that works best with your skin type. The skin types are oily, dry, normal, combination and sensitive. I also use a facial mask. Whatever items you have for your facial care regimen, just have them nearby. Then you can use whatever body lotion you choose to lock in moisture into your skin. I love lotions that not only make my skin feel silky soft and smell wonderful.

Hands and Feet

I like to keep my hands feeling soft. One day I shook hands with a gentleman at an event and his hands were SOFTER than mine! I was so embarrassed. So not only do I use hand lotion after a shower, I keep a small tube of lotion in my purse. I also use my paraffin bath in the cooler months. My HS best friend’s mother worked at a hospital that had a paraffin bath. Once I dipped my hands in that warm wax, I was hooked! For me using a paraffin bath is not only FUN but it makes my hands feel great!

You can also give yourself a beautiful manicure since the skin is softened and you can work on your cuticles. I’ve got a small variety of nail colors and topcoats. I get SERIOUS when I do my nails!

Now to the feet! I love my foot bath and I have a foot lotion that tingles during application. Fuzzy, comfortable socks are awesome!

Now that you have pampered yourself from head to toe, now sit back and relax. Start the back massager, play spa music and let all worries and cares melt away!! You deserve it!
